Getting the ship in shape in Amsterdam, April 2014

NDSM
What a moon!

Nemo at the Oosterdock.
My first professional bowline... 1 rope, 1 knot, 1 life...

My first job on the first morning on board the Pedro Doncker: climbing the mast, replacing bulbs, cutting and rewireing cables. After 3 hours, about 30 meters above the waterline, all the lights were running again. No tool fell down. Everybody was happy, especially me :-) what a view over Amsterdam from up there!
My co-sailor. Asma, Sailorgirl from Belgium.
Gheorghe and Vasile from Romania helping out.

NDSM Werff, Crane hotel and artiststudios in the trams.
Man, this things are heavy...

Expired lifevest lamps. They still work.
Cleaning out the forepeak.

Underwatersurvey.

I hate sunglasses.
DGTL. Madness. They built up for 1 week, and partyed for 2 days.
Square sails. topgallant and royal.

There's still one yard above us.

The boss. In full control.

Nice to have them as neighbours. This night I dreamt the Rainbow Warrior was leaving. There she goes. Good luck!
Regina Maris came alongside.
Day before Kingsday. One big fleamarket! I bought an electrical guitar for 10 Euros, and it even works.
What a ship. It must be more than 30 years ago that i found a poster of the Sorlandet on the streets in Zurich. I still have it.

Kingsday. Hell breaks loose on the streets of Amsterdam.

Leffe Bruin, a beautiful sunset and a sail to lean on... what more can a tired sailor want?
Turning 40...

That guy is high. But i'm higher.

Steering the Amsterdam ferry.
