2 days of vacation 2

After we took down all the sails and prepared the ship for the winter, we were using the last two days off work in Amsterdam to do some dinghi cruising through the canals. It was very peaceful, interesting and relaxing.

We even discovered the Stad Amsterdam in the Oranje Werf. It was nice to go so close to the ship that actually was the reason for my decision to become a seaman. Who knows, maybe one day I'll get the chance to hoist her sails as a sailor.
Und no en Spezialgruäss an Andi. Cool gsi dich in Rostock känezlehre. (Swiss secret language;-)

Amsterdam Rijn Kanaal. From here I could have gone directly to Switzerland.

One of the best portraits of the season. What a lucky shot. Thanx Celicia ;-)

The DreamTeam Crew. Pedro Doncker 2014

Bags are finally packed. Done with it. At least for this season. Ready to go home to my own little boat on Lake Zurich. Peace Pedro!

Back in Amsterdam

Preparing to wrap up the square sails, to later cut them off the yards and take them down. Still one of the best places to work on a ship ;-) Up in the air!

They're shy and hard to spot. Even in the Zoo. Two diggers on their way to the waterhole.

These boxes are ships...

Heart chain.
Dicovered in the Houthaven. Supernice, but a whole heap of work....

One of the best views in Amsterdam.

The sails are huge!

Two square sails are ready to get rolled up.
